Want to Conquer Self doubts? Answer These 3 Questions

I need to be perfect!

That's what my training partner said after trying the drill a few times.

He'd only started a few weeks ago but he lacked confidence. He couldn't execute the movements perfectly so felt like a failure.

His pursuit of perfection held him back from learning and improving.

Fast forward a few months later...

His confidence is booming and his understanding is growing leaps and bounds.

What changed?

He faced his doubts.

He realised that he didn't need to aim for perfection. It didn't serve him. He accepted that less than perfect wasn't failure. But an opportunity to learn and improve.

By facing his doubts, he grew more than he thought he ever could.

Facing your doubts and winning - that's the theme of this week's issue.

Welcome to The Kaizen Club newsletter.

Each week we'll be sharing one journalling prompt to help you grow.

This weeks prompt is one I learnt from Mark Manson.

If you're not sure who Mark is, He's the author of the bestselling book "The Subtle Art of Not Giving A F*ck"

In his newsletter, Mark talks about how self doubts can hold us back in life.

Unless we face them, they stop us growing.

"There’s only one way to find out if your doubts are true—do it anyway." - Mark Manson

Instead of letting doubt hold you back from growth, act despite the doubt.

Here's the prompt:

Where in your life do you doubt yourself?

Do you let it hold you back? Why?

What’s the worst thing that could happen?

Answering these questions helps to:

  • Identify your doubts.

  • See the limits doubts put on you

  • Realise that the worst thing isn't that bad

Once you understand this, you realise how powerless the doubts actually are.

You understand, how in reality, you're giving them the power.

So take back your power.

Beat your doubts.

And win.
