The Ultimate Guide To Journalling
Master Journalling in Less Than 20 minutes
Everyone says "you should journal!"
But no one ever tells you how to.
That's why this week I'm sharing 1 simple system to help you master journalling in less than 20 minutes.
The Vomit System.
Welcome to The Kaizen Club newsletter.
Each week we'll be sharing one journalling prompt to help you grow.
If you're looking for the ultimate guide to journalling, then this is for you.
The VOMIT system was created by YouTuber Struthless. It covers everything about why you should journal and how to do it.
From venting about life's stresses to planning for the future, Struthless does an amazing job of explaining the system.
I highly recommend watching the video below.
But If you don't have time to watch the full video, I've summarised The Vomit System below:
The VOMIT system: 5 ways to journal
1. Venting
How to do it?
Write about something that annoys or angers you.
It helps to clear up mental space and improve your mood.
2. Obligations
How to do it?
Ask yourself "What do I need to do?"
Then write it down on to the page.
Whether it's a work task or life admin.
Just write it down. Then sort it into buckets and make a plan for them.
It'll clear your mind and you'll find your actually able to think better.
3. Mindset
How to do it?
Improve your mindset by using the following techniques:
Reframing
Inversion
Perspective shifting
Gratitude Journalling
4.Ideate
How to do it?
Use the following techniques to come up with ideas and solutions:
Open question loops
Timed brain storming
Ask "How would X solve this?"
5. Trajectory
How to do it?
Reflect on your day to day actions to see if they line up with the direction you want your life to go.
How has it helped me?
The VOMIT system helped simplify journalling for me.
It's changed journalling from something that I "should do" to a tool that helps me every day.
Give it a try and let me know what you think.
