What Is Interoceptive Journaling and Why Should You Start Today?

Do you ever feel out of sync?

Have you ever felt like your mind and body aren't working together?

Like your body is trying to tell you something, but your mind can't understand it?

This week's prompts will help you connect your mind and body.

Welcome to The Kaizen Club newsletter.

Interoceptive journalling is a way to strengthen the link between body and mind. To help listen to what your body is telling you.

It guides you through recording and reflecting on bodily sensations to help you listen to what your body is telling you.

Research shows that regular interoceptive journalling can help improve:

  • Emotional regulation

  • Self awareness

  • Well-being

I learnt about interoceptive journalling from the Ness labs newsletter by Anne-Laure Le Cunff.

Her weekly newsletter has great, science-based articles to help you be more creative and productive.

You can check it out here

You can do interoceptive journalling by either free flow writing or using prompts to help focus and tune in on certain sensations to find out what they mean.

If you're wanting to use prompts to help, here's a few prompts Anne-Laure created:

1. How does my body feel right now, in this moment?

2. Where in my body do I feel the most tension or discomfort? Can I associate this feeling with a particular event or emotion from today?

3. How is my breath? Is it shallow or deep, fast or slow? Can I feel it more prominently in my chest, throat, or abdomen?

You can check out the rest of the prompts she created and learn more about Interoceptive journalling here

Try them out and let me know how you find it.

Thank you for being part of The Kaizen Club.

We share 1 journal prompt each week to help you grow step-by-step, unlock your potential and shape the life you want.

Until next week.

Stay Thriving,

Shoaib
