Dr Chatterjee's Guide to Becoming Your Own Hero

Who's your hero?
Here's why it should be you.
It's easy be a victim.
To let life happen to you. To feel powerless to what happens to you. To waste your life waiting for a hero to swoop in and fix it.
But no one's coming.
You need to save yourself.
You have the power to do it. You've just forgotten about it.
This week’s prompt from Dr Chatterjee can help you reclaim it.
The Hero Exercise
In his weekly newsletter, Dr Chatterjee shares a simple but powerful practice: at the end of each day, write down three moments when you acted like a hero.
Why This Works
When you think of a hero it's easy to imagine someone from a comic book or the latest action movie. But heroism can be simpler than saving the world—it can be as simple as showing up for yourself. For some, just getting out of bed is an act of courage.
Each day of your life is a story.
There's highs and lows. Moments of struggle and moments of triumph.. In those moments, there's a heroic moment. Something you did that made you the hero of the story. a choice you made, an action you took, a way you showed up for yourself or someone else.
What's key is that we remind ourselves of these moments.
Each time you do this you're building evidence of your power.
You're showing yourself you have the ability to change your world. So when you have a bad day and you feel like the world is pushing you down, you’ll have proof that you’ve risen before—and that you can do it again.
You can look back at these heroic moments. Remind yourself of your power.
It gives you hope.
It gives you resilience.
It gives you power.
Your Turn
Tonight, take five minutes to reflect on your day.
Write down 3 moments—big or small—where you showed strength, courage, or kindness. Do this every night for a week and see how it changes the way you see yourself.
You might just realise the hero you've been waiting for has been you all along.
